This Liquid Phase Stirred Tank Reactor is
designed to demonstrate the behaviour of a
stirred tank reactor.
This unit consists of:
• Reactor – CSTR made of glass
• Stirrer system – variable speed, digital display
• Cartridge heater type, 1kW with temperature
controller
• Internal cooling coil
• Condenser
• Feed tanks and pumps for each reactant
• Product or waste tank
• Temperature measurement
• Conductivity meter
Experimental capabilities:
• Batch or continuous saponification reaction of ethyl
acetate and sodium hydroxide
• Effects of residence time and reaction temperature
on reaction rate
