Description
This Fixed Bed Adsorption Reactor is
designed to demonstrate the principles of
adsorption of CO2 from a binary gas mixture
onto the surface of a solid adsorbent
(activated carbon). The process takes place
in a fixed bed column.
This unit consists of:
• packed fixed bed adsorption column
• hot water circulation system
• infrared detector
Experimental capabilities:
• Adsorption and desorption processes under various
operating conditions
• Breakthrough curves
• Quasi-isothermal regime at low concentrations and
pressures
• Solute movement theory which describes the
adsorption and desorption processes
• Understanding the formation of compressive and
dispersive fronts in adsorption processes
• Adsorption equilibrium isotherm of CO2
